Kannur International Airport’

Project Structure :
The proposal for the development of the ‘Kannur International Airport’ received ‘in principle’ clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation in February 2008. Government of Kerala is now in the process of floating a company for the development of the airport.

            The airport will be built over 2000 acres of land and will have a single runway, to begin with.
The project will be implemented on a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) basis and on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model.
The government will own 26 percent of the project and the remaining 74 percent with the joint venture partner(s) to be selected through a competitive and transparent bidding process.
The state government has identified 2,000 acres of land for the airport and the acquisition of the land is in the final process. The airport project will explore other related projects like Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO).

The techno economic feasibility project envisages to be approximately Rs.1000 crores for the airport. When completed, Kannur airport would be the fourth international airport in the State after Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.

THE KADIRUR SERVICE CO-OPERATIBE BANK

The committee under the famous social worker and freedom fighter Sri. Kundachery Kunhiraman Master was elected. New public welfare schemes were introduced gaving immence popularity. No wonder the public started calling it “ An Everyones Bank”

Spreading its wings

In 1996 Sri. Karayi Rajan took over the reins as the President. Under his able leadership the Bank has achieved much in a very short span. It wont be as exaggeration to call this period the Golden era of the Bank. New policies and Welfare schemes were introduced. And from 2 branches in 1996 it has set up 7 more branches making considerable profit. The inauguration of its H.O Complex and Golden Jubilee celebrations were held in pomp and ceremony in 2006.
